A Giant Liquid Telescope for the moon!...

This Large Telescope has a 6 meter primer liquid mirror!
Roger Angel a leading Astronomer from the university of Arizona has big plans for this telescope, he says it will be 100X more powerful than our currant Hubble Telescope floating round our earth. This is the largest known mirror to be made and will give world wide Astronomers a better view distant stars and Galaxy's. We might even be able to see other planets far closer like the one that was found last month that seemed to have oceans on it. At the moment we can only gather technical data of stars and planets that are to far to see and just create a model using special computer software.
Let the stars come closer i say!

All electric Car - Spyder...

This is a neat electric car that actually doesn't look that bad or something from Back To The Future... The UEV (Universal Electric Vehicle) Spyder costs around $70,000 and is a 2 seater sports car. This UEV can reach a top speed of 100MPH and can do a 0-60 in 7 seconds with a range of 70-150 Miles before it needs a re-charge, apparently the manufacturer of this car has an option to upgrade the batteries with li-ion batteries giving the car a 250 Mile range, unfortunately this would be an extra $30,000 on top of the original price tag!

MySpace to buy Photobucket for $250 Million!

Social networking website MySpace Inc. is buying top internet photo-sharing service Photobucket.com LLC for $250 million US in cash, according to reports citing "reliable" sources close to the deal Monday.

The digital photo site has been in talks with News Corp.-owned MySpace since the companies ended a dispute in April, according to independent reports by technology news services. Photobucket says it has 41 million registered users and grows by 80,000 members a day.

It had 17.9 million unique monthly visitors in March, according to internet ratings service ComScore Inc., as compared to MySpace's 66.3 million unique monthly visitors in March, according to ComScore.

In April, MySpace stopped blocking Photobucket users' photo slideshows, videos and "remixes" — user-created videos that feature content supplied by a third party such as a movie studio or recording label — from appearing on its members pages, ending their dispute.

MySpace said the slideshows, which used imagery from the new Spider-Man 3 movie, constituted ads that violated its user policy.

Following the dispute, the companies agreed to improve their communication and implement procedures to avoid a similar conflict from arising again.

Reports that MySpace and Photobucket were merging first surfaced on Monday on the Silicon Valley tip site ValleyWag.

By the evening, at least three established technology news services — CNet, PaidContent and TechCrunch — separately reported that they had independently confirmed the merger with sources close to the deal, sources who had requested anonymity.

Photobucket, founded in 2003, had been seeking a buyer since March, when they hired investment bank Lehman Brothers Inc.

According to internet traffic rankings service Hitwise, Photobucket accounted for 73 per cent of MySpace's photo-related traffic in March, and Photobucket received 57 per cent of its traffic from MySpace.

Spokespeople for MySpace and Photobucket could not be immediately reached for comment.

Baby with a Cobra!!?

This is madness! Why would they let a baby next to a cobra?? :O

Ear Spiders!!....

This is crazy! I don't think i could sleep again :S

A nine-year-old American boy who was suspicious of a "Rice Krispie" sound in his ear, was found to have a couple of spiders living in there.
What began as a faint popping turned into ear ache for Jesse Courtney from Albany in the state of Oregon.
Jesse's mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear - "like Rice Krispies''.
"They were walking on my eardrums,'' Jesse said, according to the Associated Press.
Dr David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.
When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.
Jesse has kept the spiders as a souvenir.

3D Desktop Printers....

3D printers have been around in the industry for years, manly within the prototyping and manufacturing industry of aeroplane parts, car parts etc before they go into full production, now a company called DesktopFactory will soon release one for the home user. Prices will be high to start with but as usual they say they will fall over time.
When they are first released they will cost just under $10,000 (£5,000ish) then they could fall to $1000 (£500ish) within 4 years according to DesktopFactory. The materials (consumables) for this type of printer will however i think be expensive....

These 3D printers work by building up layers and dots with a plastic material and hardened with procession heating. Just imagine in a few years you could download a plan off the Internet for use with these 3D Printers and print them out within a few hours depending of course on how complex the object will be =D

The possibilities of this product will be endless, you could even print yourself for example a new phone cover, PC mods... I can also see legal issues regarding certain products being duplicated and then sold, but hey what isn't illegal these days :P

Click the image above to go to DesktopFactory.com and read up on them =D

Wireless NES Controller for the Wii

This is an awesome mod! Convert a NES control pad into a wireless pad for the Nintendo Wii, now reading over the instructions on how to make this bad boy seems a bit of a task to the novice. You will have to have soldering skills and a small bit of knowledge of electronics. The stuff needed can either be bought from the likes of radio-shack or any other electronics supplier and eBay ; )
The cost to make this will be around £25 ($50ish).
Click the image below to see the guide on making that NES pad.... Enjoy =D

The Digg dilemma continues...

Digg have been hit with a dilemma regarding the HD-DVD encryption key being cracked. I have read that this was done months ago and has already been spread throughout the online community, apparently it only works with Linux and not the PC (yet anyways). Kevin Rose owner of Digg was sent a C&D letter regarding the issue to take down any posts and comments that had this code in them... Well he did and the Digg community didnt like it and started a revolt by posting the code as much as possible weather it be as normal text or within songs and pictures.... Since the revolt by the Digg users Keven announced that he will not remove posts by the users (as this is what Digg is, a community driven freedom of speech site) and they will fight as best as they can, they would rather fight the big corporation's....

Here is Kevin Rose's blog post on the matter Diggs Blog

Today was an insane day. And as the founder of Digg, I just wanted to post my thoughts…

In building and shaping the site I’ve always tried to stay as hands on as possible. We’ve always given site moderation (digging/burying) power to the community. Occasionally we step in to remove stories that violate our terms of use (eg. linking to pornography, illegal downloads, racial hate sites, etc.). So today was a difficult day for us. We had to decide whether to remove stories containing a single code based on a cease and desist declaration. We had to make a call, and in our desire to avoid a scenario where Digg would be interrupted or shut down, we decided to comply and remove the stories with the code.

But now, after seeing hundreds of stories and reading thousands of comments, you’ve made it clear. You’d rather see Digg go down fighting than bow down to a bigger company. We hear you, and effective immediately we won’t delete stories or comments containing the code and will deal with whatever the consequences might be.

If we lose, then what the hell, at least we died trying.

Digg on,

Kevin

Old couple in a car....

This may have been around for a while but it is actually hilarious! Well i LOL'ed anyways =D

Microsoft to aquir Yahoo for $50 Billion?

Just read this from forbes.com .....

"Software maker Microsoft Corp. asked search engine operator Yahoo Inc. to re-enter formal negotiations for an acquisition that could be worth $50 billion, the New York Post reported on Friday.
Microsoft is feeling increasing pressure to compete with Google Inc, which plans to beef up its portfolio with a $3.1 billion buy of online advertising company DoubleClick Inc. Earlier this week, Yahoo said it would buy 80 percent of advertising exchange Right Media for $680 million, increasing its stake in that company to full control.
Microsoft currently trails both Yahoo and Google in the lucrative and growing business of Web search.
Google won a search advertising deal with AOL in 2005 that the Post said Microsoft wanted. In addition, Google is developing Web-based software that directly competes with Microsoft Office.
Unnamed sources in the Post story said Microsoft's latest approach to Yahoo, one of many it has reportedly made over the years, signals increased urgency.
Yahoo shares surged to $32.35 in premarket electronic trading from a $28.18 close on Thursday, while shares of Microsoft fell to $30.70 in premarket activity from a $30.97 Thursday close"

Awesome football skills!

This kid has some awesome skills with a football!

Goatse.cx sold!

Last time i checked the domain sold for over $300k! For those of you who don't know what the hell Goatse is, it was a very popular shocker site that displayed shocking images, just Google the term and I'm sure you will come across some of the images (but you have been warned haha). The site's images were very popular with webmasters, when people hot linked images from your site you could replace the image on your server and BAM! Everyone that hot linked an image from your site in turn showed up on there site replacing the original image, ha was always good for laughs =D

I'm not going to show you an image on this site, but here is one below that gives you an idea (just think of an ass hole lol)

We are only monkeys!
