3D Desktop Printers....

3D printers have been around in the industry for years, manly within the prototyping and manufacturing industry of aeroplane parts, car parts etc before they go into full production, now a company called DesktopFactory will soon release one for the home user. Prices will be high to start with but as usual they say they will fall over time.
When they are first released they will cost just under $10,000 (£5,000ish) then they could fall to $1000 (£500ish) within 4 years according to DesktopFactory. The materials (consumables) for this type of printer will however i think be expensive....

These 3D printers work by building up layers and dots with a plastic material and hardened with procession heating. Just imagine in a few years you could download a plan off the Internet for use with these 3D Printers and print them out within a few hours depending of course on how complex the object will be =D

The possibilities of this product will be endless, you could even print yourself for example a new phone cover, PC mods... I can also see legal issues regarding certain products being duplicated and then sold, but hey what isn't illegal these days :P

Click the image above to go to DesktopFactory.com and read up on them =D
